Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a beautiful 1980's era University Sound US688L model dynamic cardioid microphone based on the more common Electro Voice 658L Dynamic Cardioid microphone set at low impedance making it great for singing and general broadcasting purposes. A great package deal all around. This 688L seems to have been an upgraded version of the 658 model. The quality control and build was top notch.

You'll see in pic # 3 the actual data sheet you'll be receiving with the mic. It's in excellent condition and has a ton of technical info on this mic. It's set at 150 OHMS low impedance and the frequency response is 60 - 13,000 HZ. The tone is smooth and this mic sounds really nice. I'd compare it to a classic Shure SM58 with just a little less bass.

This is a very high quality mic that will be ideal for singing and broadcasting purposes. A rugged, well constructed mic with excellent sound characteristics. This was the newer generation of handheld microphones with a design that had less to do with making an impression and more to with practicality. The flat black paint scheme keep light glare to a minimum and has a slightly more aggressive vibe.

The mic is lite weight and appx 7 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip of the grill. As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in extremely nice cosmetic condition having virtually no wear. The mesh grill looks new with zero deformation, odors or discoloration. The label looks amazing and completely legible. The original painted handle looks amazing with no wear. These 6 series mics are basically bullet proof.

The o riginal 688L box shows lite wear but is a great place to store the contents and great for resale value. The microphone comes with a vintage mic clip and it works perfectly and looks very nice with the mic. The clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. This mic also comes with a standard XLR type cable to operate this mic. The cable is an original Electro Voice brand and appx 18 feet in length.

Soft, pliable and has the male and female XLR end connectors for use with most audio equipment. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned as they were slightly tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached. This will make an excellent addition to the vintage mic collection or something truly nice for any live event. Mic is an easy 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE... USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. As with all my other vintage microphones.. I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. Simply return in the same nice condition... International buyers are welcome as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask and..
