Vintage 1980's University Sound / E. V 660 dynamic cardioid microphone w mic clip

Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at a high quality vintage 1980's era microphone based on... This was the University Sound US660A model based on the more common 660 dynamic super cardioid microphone. These rugged classic microphones were made by E. A for almost 30 years before being discontinued and was used for several applications including broadcasting and singing.

One of the finest dynamic cardioid mics of it's era still sounding far better than most handheld mics made today. This US66A comes with the aftermarket model mic clip shown. Pic # 2 is from an old E. V advertisement that shows technical characteristics on this model mic.

The 660 came in both stick form as well as with the lower pistol grip depending on your needs but these two were the stick mic variants that you could either place in a mic clip or simply hold in the hand while live. The US660A is a light weight microphone set at 150 OHMS (Low impedance) and it has a smooth, warm tone that's excellent for broadcasting and singing. It's not super bass heavy like a Shure SM-58. These mics are dual Z as well so if you wire it properly you can get high Z but currently it's factory set at low impedance. It's also uni-directional picking up only your voice directly in front of the screen and cancelling out unwanted background noise. You'll notice that the US660A shown here came in it's original satin black painted finish which gives the mic a more aggressive, ominous look. They painted these as such to reduce unwanted light glare. The finish itself is quite nice with just a few small scuff marks and tiny scratches. The mic is free of any dent's, fractures or corrosion and the front screen looks great being free of any dents or odors. The inner pop filter is in great condition and original. The US660 label is perfect and completely legible. The XLR pins were cleaned as well ensuring a perfect signal once an XLR cable is attached. I don't know the first year this US660A was introduced but it seems to have started production in the early 1970's. These only pop up once in a while making them a bit more unique than the standard E. I'd rate this mic a very conservative 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 though some would rate higher. The mics measure 6 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 wide at the screen. The aftermarket mic clip is also included and it fits the mics firmly allowing for a wide range of tilt up and down. The clip will screw on to any microphone desk or floor stand. The clip has the adjustable tension via side screw. The clip is in very good physical condition as well.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE... USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. As with all my vintage microphones.. I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. Simply return in the same nice condition...

International buyers are welcome as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask and..
