You can use the stock Um70 with the mic body it came with (mv692), or unscrew it from it's solid-state body and put it onto a very high performance tube mic body designed specifically for a classic UM70 capsule. When using the um70 with the innertube mic body you place the um70 in figure 8 position. The polar pattern is then adjusted on the innertube power supply and fully variable between all polar patterns known to man, including the "in between" ones.
